Usually normal
The studio - no! The Wunderkammer! - of Özgür Erkök in Katzlerstraße is crammed with the craziest things.
Özgür has a huge costume trove in a very small room: neon green and yellow tulle hangs on curtains in front of the windows. Wolf masks on a bust. Masks made of letter wire or hairpins can be discovered among colourful accessories such as plastic flowers, fairy lights, peacock feathers, dollhouses, feather boas and red skull ties. Some masks have names: "Ach Head" or "Kissing Wolves".
Özgür puts on a huge long-hair wig made of video tapes and a dark mask and sings to some funky beats: "normally", normal". He alienates this word more and more, sniffles, breathes, pants. Alienates the sound. Sings into the mic. On his speakers it says: "Weird". Two men can be seen there, one in a robe, another dressed only in pants.
"That was creepy!" we tell him, "like something out of a horror film!" But we also have to laugh a little.
