This is today life

Black drawings on a white background of animals, dinos, birds, trees and people. The only splash of colour is a yellow sun.

As part of the "Umbau-Gesellschaft", a project week on the theme of expression was conducted with "Cucula - Refugees Company for Crafts and Design".

Drawing and painting are excellent fields of experimentation. Expression can be practised and manifested and the painted picture becomes an offer to exchange and invitation to dreaming at the same time. Through small exercises, questions and open paths of thought. In regular workshops, Ephra stimulated the imagination with small exercises and open questions encouraging new paths of thought. Additionally, the workshops provided the participants with possible approaches to expression. In conversation - both inside the group and with each individual - types of art were explored and evaluated to find the right form for each one. Together, ways were found to further develop, open up and exceed the boundaries of comfort to allow more wildness and joy. The aim and desire was to find an individual language that is genuine, full of joy, clear and connected - a language that surprises and articulates something that was not known or visible before. The contrast between Seeing and feeling were sensitised: Wanting inside and looking outside are the two spaces of attention that were consciously switched back and forth between in the workshop. What emerges is surprise - often revelation.
