Ephra x Bauakademie

Workshops on the topics of construction, urban development, innovation & sustainability

Two children standing in front of building plans in the Bauakademie.

What is important in building? How important are innovation and sustainability? And what do we want from new places in our city?

That's what we want to find out together with a 4th, a 9th and a 12th grade class on behalf of the Bundesstiftung Bauakademie. In the ongoing workshops, we will research the topics of urban development, building, and the future and explore a wide variety of exciting places in Berlin – for example, the Hansaviertel, the Bauhaus Reuse-Pavillon on the central island of Ernst-Reuter-Platz, in the Alten Münze, the architecture gallery AEDES, the Haus der Statistik, and so on.

Ephra x Bauakademie at rbbKultur

Radio journalist Ulrike Jährling accompanied a workshop day. You can listen to her contribution here:

Berlin's Humboldt Forum is finished, the redesign of Schinkel's Bauakademie across the street is still under discussion, and we at rbbKultur are now being visionary. What and how would young people build if they were allowed to? What are their wishes and dreams and how innovative and sustainable does the young generation think?
Ulrike Jährling mingled with young urban planners from a 9th grade class at Berlin's Beethoven-Gymnasium. They are currently in the middle of their "Junge Bauakademie" project.
